In a move that can only be described as both a public roast and a cry for help, Shiba Inu (SHIB) developer Kaal Dhairya sent a message to the hacker who managed to swipe $2.3 million in crypto assets via the Shibarium Bridge. His advice? “Do something right”-you know, like accepting a cash offer from K9 Finance instead of sitting on your ill-gotten gains like some kind of crypto villain.
Latest Cash Offer to the Shibarium Bridge Hacker
U.Today broke the news in an earlier story that the hacker pulled off a flash loan attack on the Shibarium Bridge on September 12. Who knew that $2.3 million could be stolen in the blink of an eye, with all the grace of a pickpocket in a hurry?
Here’s how it went down: The hacker, not content with simply swiping a few digital tokens, artificially boosted their stake to gain influence over validators and submit fraudulent exit requests. In doing so, they managed to seize 10 out of 12 validator keys, securing temporary majority control. Oh, the power! And with it, the hacker withdrew a cool $2.3 million worth of assets, including Ethereum (ETH), SHIB, ROAR, and KNINE. Is there a medal for this sort of thing? š
But just when the hacker thought they’d pulled off the perfect crime, K9 Finance-Shibarium’s official liquid staking solution-was like, “Not today, buddy.” They blacklisted the hackerās wallet, rendering the stolen 248 billion KNINE tokens completely unsellable. A solid win for the good guys. š
K9 didnāt stop there. They also offered a 5 ETH bounty for the frozen KNINE tokens, sent right to the hackerās wallet. But, alas, the hacker didnāt bite. Apparently, they were too busy admiring their stash of worthless tokens. Itās like having a gold mine, only to find out itās filled with rocks. š
Fast forward to November 3, 2025. K9 Finance decides to sweeten the deal, increasing the bounty offer to 20 ETH for the stolen KNINE tokens. Thatās right, 20 ETH. You can almost hear Kaal Dhairya’s sarcastic tone as he tweeted:
Yo, Shibarium bridge attacker, wake up-grab free cash before the offer expires this time and do something right.
– Kaal (@kaaldhairya) November 4, 2025
In case the hacker missed it, Dhairya is literally telling them to take the money and run-like a white-hat hacker trying to fix their mistakes. If the hacker actually accepts the offer, K9 recovers its tokens, trust goes up, and KNINEās price rebounds. Itās a win-win! š
Shibarium Safety Measures
After the attack, the Shiba Inu developers werenāt sitting idly by, wondering where it all went wrong. No, they rolled up their sleeves and added key improvements to the bridge to enhance security. Itās like installing an alarm system after someone steals your TV, but hey, better late than never!
First, they released a new version of the bridge, packed with enhanced security features and stronger loss prevention. Suspicious addresses? Theyāre now blocked. This means bad actors are less likely to get away with another crypto heist. Bad news for hackers, good news for everyone else. š«
They also added a seven-day withdrawal delay, so if anyone tries to withdraw BONE, thereās now a buffer period. This gives security teams enough time to react if things get fishy. So no more “oops, I made a mistake” moments for hackers. š
To top it off, Shibarium launched a new official RPC in collaboration with dRPC.org. They even plan to publish a template that will act as a manual for handling any future malicious attempts. Because, you know, it’s always good to be prepared when the next hacker thinks they’re smarter than you. š”
