Devnet Drama: XRP Ledger’s Grand Reset Looms-March 3rd, Darlings!

My dear tech enthusiasts, gather ’round! The XRP Ledger Validator Vet, with a flourish of his digital quill, has announced the impending reset of the XRP Ledger devnet. “Fear not, my coddling coders,” he trilled, “the reset descends upon us next Tuesday, sparing you the tedious task of recreating your dev setups. How utterly convenient!” This proclamation arrives as a staggering 21% of XRP nodes have gracefully waltzed into the new version 3.1.1, released with all the fanfare of a forgotten tea party.

the reset is coming next Tuesday so you don’t have to recreate your dev setup on the dev net yet

Ah, version 3.1.1 of rippled, the darling reference server implementation of the XRP Ledger protocol, made its debut on February 23rd. This update, my pets, supersedes the rather disastrous 3.1.0, which had the audacity to disable the Batch and fixBatchInnerSigs amendments due to a bug so severe it would make even the most stoic developer clutch their pearls.

According to the official XRPL blog, the XRP Ledger devnet is scheduled for its grand reset on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The reason, you ask? Why, it’s all due to the fix update to the batch amendment, of course. A bug, reported through the bug bounty program (how delightfully modern!), has thrown a spanner in the works of the batch and fixBatchInnerSigs amendments. The Batch amendment, poor thing, requires more development and has been relegated to “unsupported” status in version 3.1.1. To prevent validators from becoming amendment-blocked, the devnet must be reset. How utterly tedious!

Fear not, my darlings, for this reset affects only the devnet. The XRPL Mainnet, Testnet, Xahau, and the Hooks Testnet shall continue their merry dance without a hitch. The reset, however, will sweep away all ledger data in Devnet-accounts, transactions, balances, settings, offers, AMMs, escrows, and more-leaving balances at zero and the block number starting anew. How positively apocalyptic!

Existing accounts and data, my dears, will require a fresh test XRP from the faucet and must be recreated. But fret not, for services such as devnet APIs, faucets, explorers, access rights, and wallet integrations are expected to weather this reset with the poise of a seasoned socialite at a scandalous soiree.
