STRKSTRK$0.04030◢10.22%The recent surge in memecoins continues to offer some traders incredibly profitable opportunities. One anonymous crypto user made a huge profit in just five days by trading ASTEROID tokens. They initially spent $575 to buy 2.79 billion tokens on April 17th, and then sold them all on Tuesday for 503 ETH, which was worth around $1.17 million – a gain of over 2,000 times their initial investment, according to data from Lookonchain.
ASTEROID is a memecoin built on Ethereum, known as “First Shiba In Space.” The coin’s theme comes from a drawing of a Shiba Inu created by Liv Perrotto, a teenager who sadly passed away in January 2026 after a five-year fight with cancer.

Two years before she passed away, Perrotto drew a dog while volunteering with SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn team. The drawing, based on Elon Musk’s Shiba Inu, Floki, went into space on the Polaris Dawn mission in September 2024, serving as a visual cue for the crew to know they had reached zero gravity.
Liv’s artwork, which was sent to space with the Polaris Program, arrived today! They also included a special letter she received at Camp Cadet on the journey. It’s such an amazing experience for her! ❤️🚀🌎

Before she died, Perrotto had prepared a list of eight questions for Elon Musk, with the last one being a playful request to make her asteroid-themed character, Asteroid, SpaceX’s mascot. After her passing, her mother shared the list online, and it quickly gained attention when Glenn Beck publicized it. Musk eventually saw the post and simply replied “ok,” officially making Asteroid the SpaceX mascot.
Musk’s reply caused the value of the token to skyrocket. Within hours, ASTEROID’s market value jumped from around $50,000 to over $20 million, and continued to climb past $100 million over the next few days, with over $100 million worth of the token being traded in a single day.
The token briefly rose to become one of the top 200 cryptocurrencies based on its total value. As of Wednesday morning in Europe, it was trading at $0.0004435, with a total market value of $186.5 million and $24 million worth of the token traded in the last 24 hours.
This cryptocurrency isn’t officially supported by SpaceX, doesn’t have any licensing agreements, and there’s no proof Elon Musk is involved other than responding to posts on social media.
The token is available to trade on Uniswap, paired with wrapped ether. It currently has a market value of $186.5 million, with $24.3 million worth traded in the last 24 hours. The price has increased by 20.69% in the last day and 28.54% in the last six hours. Since April 17th, its value has increased approximately tenfold, according to data from DEX Screener.
