As of Wednesday, May 20, it’s sashayed past its previous market cap high, now sitting pretty at over $1.65 billion. That’s a 3% jump in 24 hours, which, let’s be honest, is more action than most of us have seen in our dating lives this year.
According to CoinMarketCap-the gossip column of the crypto world-RLUSD is having a moment. Launched less than two years ago, it’s already outpacing its April highs, proving that even in the cutthroat stablecoin market, there’s room for a late bloomer with good bones.
RLUSD: The Overachiever of Stablecoins
While most of us are still trying to figure out how to pronounce “decentralized finance,” RLUSD is over here collecting accolades like a middle schooler with a participation trophy addiction. Its supply has swelled to $1.65 billion, a 2.9% increase from its previous record. Enterprises are apparently tripping over themselves to integrate it, which is more than I can say for my attempts to integrate into my local book club.
Sure, it’s still trailing behind heavyweights like PYUSD and USD1, but let’s not forget: this is the stablecoin equivalent of a toddler taking its first steps. Give it a minute-or a few billion dollars-and it might just be running the show.

Ripple’s not just sitting back and letting RLUSD do its thing. Oh no, they’re the helicopter parent of the crypto world, ensuring their little stablecoin is constantly in demand. Trading? Check.
