Realistic fake videos created using artificial intelligence, showing Changpeng Zhao and Yi He, both prominent figures from Binance, are spreading on Crypto Twitter. This has led to discussions about just how sophisticated AI has become at imitating real people in the crypto world.
These short videos are designed like suspenseful police procedural dramas. They feature incredibly realistic AI versions of Zhao and Yi He, with voices, facial expressions, and emotional performances that look and sound like the real people.
As an analyst, I’ve been following the reaction to these AI-generated videos, and it’s been interesting. While most people immediately recognize them as satire, the level of polish is really turning heads in the crypto space. I’ve seen a lot of clips shared on X today, and the feedback is that the production quality – both the visuals and the writing – is now comparable to what you’d expect from a professional studio.

Deepfakes and Crypto’s Growing Problem
Zhao and Yi He started Binance together in 2017 and have always been close both as business partners and personally.
The videos touch on current issues, but mainly center around fictional workplace drama instead of what’s actually happening in the world.
Neither Zhao nor Yi He has publicly commented on the videos.

The viral clips arrive amid a broader surge in AI-driven deepfake content across the crypto sector.
Recently, experts have cautioned that the cryptocurrency industry is still the biggest target for deepfake scams involving impersonation.
Scammers are now using artificial intelligence to create fake videos, clone voices, and generate realistic avatars to pretend to be company leaders, celebrities, and other public figures.
Chainalysis reports that scams using AI to pretend to be someone else skyrocketed by over 1,400% in 2025. Police are also cautioning that as AI gets better at creating content, it’s increasingly difficult to tell the difference between harmless jokes, false information, and actual fraud.
A New Cultural Flashpoint
The Binance videos seem intended as entertainment, not to mislead anyone. Still, their lifelike quality highlights how easily comparable technology could be misused to manipulate markets or commit investment fraud.
As an analyst, I’m seeing increasing concern about deepfakes within the crypto space. Because this technology is becoming easier and more affordable to use, it’s crucial that we focus on helping users understand how to verify information and improve their overall digital literacy. It’s really about protecting them from increasingly sophisticated scams and misinformation.
