Darling, gather round, for the latest tête-à-tête in the world of Cardano! Our dear Input Output Global (IOG) has decided to tidy up its toy box, discarding a few playthings in the process. Yes, my pets, the network is having a spot of spring cleaning, though it’s hardly the season for it. Out with the old, in with the vaguely promising, as they say.
Acropolis? More Like Acropolis-Not
The Acropolis project, that Rust-based darling meant to spruce up infrastructure diversity, is being shown the door come April 2026. Oh, the tragedy! Despite its faster blockchain synchronization (how thrilling), it seems the poor thing no longer fits into IOG’s grand scheme. One can almost hear it sobbing into its code.
“We’re changing course to prioritize Cardano’s growth. We are ceasing development on Acropolis to focus on chain abstraction and cancelling Tiered Pricing to align with the Leios roadmap. This decision returns ₳4.1M to the Treasury. We’re putting resources where they deliver the most value for the community.” Said IOG, with all the gravitas of a society matron declaiming on the latest scandal.
And let’s not forget the Tiered Pricing model, which has been unceremoniously tossed into the dustbin of history. Apparently, it’s as outdated as last season’s chapeau. Research tied to Ouroboros Leios suggests it would have been as useful as a screen door on a submarine.
Leios: The New Darling of the Ball
With Acropolis and Tiered Pricing out of the picture, all eyes are now on Leios and chain abstraction. These upgrades, we’re told, will make the network as user-friendly as a well-hosted soiree. Charles Hoskinson, ever the optimist, hints that Leios could debut within the year, promising efficiency without sacrificing decentralization. How very modern of him.
Treasury Return: A Whiff of Mystery
In a gesture of largesse, IOG is returning 4.1 million ADA to the treasury. How generous! Yet, as with any grand gesture, questions arise. An observant soul on X (formerly known as Twitter, darling) has noticed a discrepancy. Some 2.66 million ADA seems to have vanished into the ether, leaving us all to wonder: Where has it gone? Is it lurking in the Acropolis code, or has it simply taken a holiday? And what’s this about a broken GitHub link? How très awkward.
So there you have it, my dears. Cardano’s latest drama, served with a side of wit and a dash of sarcasm. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a martini to attend to. Ta-ta!
