The wait is now on! The Litecoin Summit 2026 will be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 22nd and 23rd. This is the first time the annual event will take place in Europe, and the timing couldn’t be better.
The summit will serve as the official kickoff to Dutch Blockchain Week, the continent’s premier Web3 event, which runs from June 22–28 across Amsterdam. With over 5,000 attendees expected and more than 40 side events planned throughout the week, this is not a quiet corner conference. This is Litecoin stepping onto the European stage in a big way.
The Crypto Times is excited to announce we’re an official media partner for the Litecoin Summit 2026! We’ve been working closely with the Litecoin Foundation to get you an exclusive preview of the event. Get ready to see Amsterdam host a celebration of one of the original and strongest cryptocurrency networks.
Why Europe, and why now?
Choosing Amsterdam as the location for this summit was a deliberate choice. Europe is quickly becoming a global leader in blockchain technology, primarily because of its increasingly clear and supportive regulations.
The European Union’s new rules for crypto-assets, called MiCA, have significantly changed how the crypto market operates. These rules will be fully in effect on July 1, 2026—just days after our summit—making crypto regulation a key discussion point.
In Europe, any company offering crypto services needs to obtain a MiCA license by a certain date or stop operating. This new set of rules provides clear legal guidelines for crypto in the EU, something the United States is still developing.
Add to that the wave of digital banks across Europe beginning to integrate crypto services, and the picture becomes clear: Europe is where the builders, the regulators, and the institutions are converging. Litecoin, with its emphasis on real-world payments and compliance-friendly architecture, fits squarely into that narrative.
According to the Litecoin Foundation, the upcoming summit will feature discussions on important topics like privacy, financial independence, and resisting censorship. Speakers will include developers, thought leaders, policymakers, and even some early pioneers of cryptography – affectionately called “cypherpunks.”
The speaker lineup: Privacy, development, and the LitVM ecosystem
The speaker roster is now live, and it reflects the range of conversations the Foundation wants to spark this year. Here’s a look at some of the names confirmed so far:
Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin and a director at the Litecoin Foundation, is a key speaker at the annual Litecoin Summit. His yearly “State of the Coin” presentation is a beloved tradition, offering updates on the technology behind Litecoin, a vision for its future, and an honest assessment of its current position.
During last year’s conference in Las Vegas, Charlie Lee strongly stated that Litecoin is “the people’s currency,” highlighting its fair launch with no pre-mining, excessive promotion, or founder rewards. The upcoming Amsterdam event is expected to have a similar enthusiastic atmosphere, and will likely include news about the expanding Litecoin network and its increasing use.
Alexis Roussel — COO and Co-Founder, NYM. Roussel is one of the most prominent privacy advocates in the European crypto space. As the co-founder and COO of NYM, he leads the development of the world’s largest mixnet — a decentralized network designed to make internet communications truly private and unobservable.
Having him speak at the Litecoin Summit highlights the event’s strong emphasis on privacy as a basic right. This idea aligns perfectly with Litecoin’s recent addition of MimbleWimble Extension Blocks (MWEB), which allow for private transactions.
Meet Aztec Amaya, co-founder of LitVM. The Litecoin community should take note – LitVM is the first zero-knowledge Layer-2 chain built on Litecoin. First introduced last year, it’s quickly become a growing ecosystem compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
Built on BitcoinOS and Polygon’s Chain Development Kit, LitVM brings smart contracts, DeFi capabilities, and cross-chain interoperability to the Litecoin network for the first time.
The Crypto Times reported about the LitVM launch, calling it the “first true ZK Rollup on a UTXO chain” — one that trustlessly connects Litecoin, Bitcoin, and Dogecoin without centralized bridges. With apps and companies now actively building on the LitVM ecosystem, Aztec Amaya’s session could reveal the next chapter in Litecoin’s evolution from a payments network to a full-fledged smart contract platform.
The summit will heavily focus on how different cryptocurrencies can work together and practical, everyday applications of the technology, as evidenced by speakers like Charlie Lee of Litecoin and Anton Roos of Coinweb/Pact Swap. Ben Miklozek, co-founder of Lokotech AS, is also returning after speaking on merged mining at last year’s event.
David Eichel, a co-founder of Pepecoin, focuses on the combination of meme coins and proof-of-work technology. Diego Salazar, who owns Cypher Stack and Stack Wallet, is a representative of the self-custody and privacy tools space. Envis Begaj, Compliance Head at the leading European crypto exchange Bitvavo, will likely offer insights into regulatory compliance, especially important with the upcoming MiCA deadline.
Other confirmed speakers include Iván Escamilla Rodriguez (Product & Growth Lead, Coinsbee), Jaz Gulati (Co-Founder, Garden), Josh Riezman (Chief Legal and Strategy Officer, GSR), Kyle Eber (84 Million Podcast), Marty Simpson (stand-up comedian and summit emcee), Randi Hipper (Foundations by Litecoin Podcast Host), Tim Zölitz (CEO, Crypto Risk Metrics), and Zayn Kalyan (Executive Chairman, Luxxfolio).
As an analyst, I’m really impressed by the range of projects building on Litecoin. We’re seeing everything from advancements in privacy technology and regulatory compliance, to scaling solutions with Layer-2 development, and even strategies aimed at attracting larger institutional investors. This diverse approach clearly signals where Litecoin is focusing its efforts and growth for 2026.
The Litecoin Summit party
Anyone who’s been to a Litecoin Summit before knows the after-party is a highlight. Last year in Las Vegas, attendees finished the event with a relaxed poolside party at Harrah’s, where they could network, chat, and discuss the future of cryptocurrency while enjoying drinks.
The tradition continues in Amsterdam, with a Litecoin Summit Party planned for the first night, June 22. Details on the venue are expected soon, but if history is any guide, it will be one to remember.
What to expect: Themes to watch
From what we’ve learned about the speakers and special information shared with The Crypto Times, here are the main topics expected at the two-day summit.
- Privacy as a Right, Not a Feature — With Alexis Roussel and Diego Salazar on the roster, and Litecoin’s own MWEB technology continuing to mature, privacy will be front and center. This isn’t just a technical discussion; it’s a philosophical one about what kind of financial system we want to build.
- The LitVM Ecosystem Expands — Last year’s summit saw the launch. This year, expect updates on adoption metrics, new dApps building on LitVM, and potentially new integrations. The EVM-compatible Layer-2 has given Litecoin an entirely new utility narrative.
- Europe’s Regulatory Moment — With MiCA’s final deadline hitting just days after the summit, conversations around compliance, licensing, and what the EU’s framework means for projects like Litecoin will be impossible to avoid. Speakers like Envis Begaj and Josh Riezman are well-positioned to lead those discussions.
- Institutional Adoption — From Luxxfolio adding LTC to its corporate treasury to BitPay data showing Litecoin commanding over 40% of transaction share on its platform, the institutional and merchant adoption story around Litecoin has quietly strengthened. Expect this to be a recurring thread.
Last year, analysts at Bloomberg Intelligence, particularly James Seyffart, predicted a very high chance – around 90% – that a Litecoin ETF would be approved. Grayscale’s John Hoffman suggested it might happen by October 2025. The possibility of an ETF has been a major focus for Litecoin for the past year, and the upcoming event in Amsterdam could provide new information on this topic.
A continuing partnership: The Crypto Times at Litecoin Summit
The Crypto Times provided comprehensive coverage of Litecoin Summit 2025 in Las Vegas. They reported live on Charlie Lee’s main presentation, were first to announce the launch of LitVM, covered the discussion about a Litecoin ETF, and shared details from the event schedule and early hints from Polygon’s Sandeep Nailwal, which generated excitement even before the summit began.
Before last year’s summit, a Litecoin Foundation leader shared with The Crypto Times that important news regarding Litecoin/Bitcoin Computer and LitVM would be released soon.
As the official media partner for Litecoin Summit 2026, we will be bringing the same level of comprehensive coverage from Amsterdam — exclusive interviews, live updates, and in-depth analysis of every major announcement.
Tickets, venue, and logistics
The Litecoin Summit 2026 will be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 22nd and 23rd, marking the start of Dutch Blockchain Week. A two-day pass to the summit costs only €84 and includes access to all talks, panels, workshops, breakout sessions, the exhibit hall, networking opportunities, and drinks.
It’s worth noting that the Litecoin Summit pass covers the two summit days only and does not include access to the broader Dutch Blockchain Week Summit (June 24–25 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA) or other side events during the week.
The bottom line
It feels like just yesterday I was hearing about Litecoin making moves in Vegas, talking about potential ETFs and how strong their community still was, even after all the ups and downs of crypto. Now, the scene has shifted to Amsterdam, which seems like the perfect spot – it’s right in the middle of everything happening with European regulations, big financial institutions, and that original, rebellious crypto spirit.
As an analyst, I’ve been watching this closely, and the expansion into Europe feels less like a dramatic shift for this network and more like a logical progression. Considering it’s already handled trillions of dollars in transactions, was an early innovator in privacy technologies like MWEB, and remains the dominant cryptocurrency for payments through services like BitPay, moving into Europe simply feels like the next natural step in its growth.
One month out, the stage is set. The speakers are confirmed. The party is planned. And if last year’s summit is anything to go by, what happens in Amsterdam won’t stay in Amsterdam.
